The Hide is a quirky, bright yellow art deco building, sitting on the corner of Scotland St in the heart of Sheffield City Centre.
Whilst not everyone has stepped inside the building, it is recognised because it is very yellow.
The Hide was born in 2014 and has been operating as a hub for independent businesses, offering affordable all-inclusive rents. In 2015, the internal warehouses were renovated and an urban events space was created.
Since then, The Hide has hosted weddings, private parties and celebrations as well as art exhibitions, corporate events and public events, such as our well-known Street Food Friday.

PERCY AND LILY’S
The unique thing about the Hide is that it comes with onsite hospitality, in the form of two vintage H Vans known as Percy & Lily.
No other venue in Sheffield can offer you this!
PUBLIC EVENTS
Street Food Friday is a quarterly event that sells out each time. We serve two street food menus, have two bars and a great DJ plays tunes that keep the dance floor busy all night long! It’s a great opportunity to see what we do at the Hide and how we do it.
In 2020, we brought back our Breakfast Club and ran this in conjunction with Smith Street Coffee Shop from July to October. It was a great success so its likely there will be more pop up Breakfast Clubs in the future.
WEDDINGS
The versatility of The Hide is what makes the space unique and stand out from others in Sheffield. We have two very different warehouse spaces where you can eat, dance and celebrate with the ones you love. The Hide comes with the iconic Citroen H Vans, from our resident caterers Percy & Lily’s to serve your food and drinks inside the building, and what other venue gives you that? We also have a beautiful relaxing café space and options of outdoor seating in the warmer months offering your guests a variety of spaces to move in and out of, with room to talk as well as party!
CORPORATE EVENTS
From conferences, to training days, awards ceremonies and staff celebrations, we’ve hosted local, regional and national clients at The Hide. From race nights to cinema events, the space can be set up to deliver almost anything and we have the industry contacts to help you realise your vision.
Our venue has Sheffield street food pioneers Percy & Lily’s as our in house caterers to keep your staff and clients happy. Our onsite café run by Smith Street Coffee Roasters provides freshly roasted and ground coffee, which really is the best in Sheffield.
PARTIES
The Hide is a perfect party venue. She can be transformed to fit a theme and personalised to suit your needs or, you can just ‘rock up’ and party in our space, as in our opinion she’s perfect just the way she is. We’ve had jazz bands, rock bands, acoustic singers and some of the best DJs bringing their music to the venue, or you can create your own playlist and use our system to create a night to remember! We have two very different warehouse spaces where you can eat, dance and celebrate and inside there are two Citroen H Vans, to serve your food and drinks, making your party quite a talking point with your guests!
SMALL BUSINESS HUB
The central principle at the Hide is that we operate as a micro community. Without our tenants and studio lets, we would not have a venue. Likewise, without the events space, we would not be able to offer studio lets in the way we do. Early on, we reflected this symbiotic relationship in our social media and website domain We Are The Hide.
